Born in Japan in 1970, Go Segawa studied Fine Arts at Nihon University in Tokyo before continuing his education in France at the École Supérieure d’Art et de Design de Reims and the École des Beaux-Arts de Rennes. He subsequently pursued a PhD in Aesthetics, Science and Art Technology at Paris 8 University.
He currently lives and works in the Paris region.
Combining outstanding dexterity with subtle digital intervention, Go Segawa reimagines the third dimension. From his optical « big bang » emerges a magical universe, where the artist creates ethereal and colourful kinetic sculptures. With minimalist texture, Go Segawa creates an immediate sense of evanescence. His jelly-like geometric forms awaken a sense of « gourmandise ».
The vibrations and other layers of depth in his sculptures transform this reimagined origami into a spatial journey.
Each artwork is unique, whether hand-painted in acrylic and watercolour on PVC or produced as part of a small printed series, embodying the exclusivity and poetic spirit of the artist.
